The ROGERIO BOCCATO QUARTETO is an exciting new collaboration between four great improvisers - percussionist Rogerio Boccato, pianist Nando Michelin, saxophonist Kris Allen, and bassist Keala Kaumeheiwa.

After knowing Toninho Horta and his music for the last 20 years, and having the privelege of performing alongside him through this time in various settings - from symphony orchestras to duo concerts - Rogerio Boccato decided to pay a tribute to one of the greatest Brazilian composers and guitar players who just turned 60. By focusing on Toninho's works exclusively, this project seeks to re-interpret his remarkable songs in a very personal way by allowing each musician to contribute creatively with their unique voices.

Toninho's presence at the 55 Bar concert in NYC reaffirmed the innovative essence of this project.
